HUGE WDW summer photo recap! PART 1

Here is another one of our JUMBO photo albums! Walt Disney World reopened after the COVID-19 lockdown in July and we’ve been able to visit a few times. Crowds seem to be increasing every time we return. Wearing a mask all day in the heat was uncomfortable but between eating and using the relaxation stations we made the best of it. Everyone pretty much keeps their masks on and does their best to social distance. Wait times were very short on our first few post-lockdown visits and the suspension of Fastpass+ has a lot to do with it. But the wait times are going up with increased attendance and the long socially distances lines stretch out into walkways. To make up for the lack of parades, meet and greets, and other live entertainment small “cavalcades” have been introduced. This is one of our favorite things about the new normal...unexpected little character interactions spread out throughout the park. The new paint scheme on the castle is intriguing, it certainly is more in keeping with the “brand” as it looks nearly exactly like the logo castle from in front of the films. In person the color interferes with the “forced perspective” of the castle and it looks less like a “real” castle and more like a miniature. The Florida sun already is fading the colors so maybe over time it won’t be so shocking. It’s very hard for us to stay away from the most magical place on earth; after months of isolation it was great to be out and about in Disney World.
