Let’s flashback to the summer of 2021 when we had a chance to stay at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort at Walt Disney World for the Fourth of July Holiday!
Located on Crescent Lake in the EPCOT Resort area and between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Easy access to EPCOT by foot, or by boat. Hollywood Studios is a boat ride away or you can walk to EPCOT’s international gateway and take the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios. The Kingdoms (Magic & Animal) are accessible by bus.
The Boardwalk itself has shops and dining opportunities, more than you typically find at other resorts and The Beach & Yacht Clubs as well as the Swan & Dolphin are within walking distance or boat ride if you prefer.
Our stay coincided with quite a bit of rain, which because of the lightning shut down the boats for a while. But thankfully the skies cleared for fireworks.
The room was a DVC studio suite (Boardwalk resort is a hotel and a Disney Vacation Club resort), and we had a great balcony overlooking the theme pool with distant views of the Swan & Dolphin beyond.
The lobby had cool carousel/Boardwalk amusement park themed decorations including murals of the Disney Parks Castles around the world in pastoral settings.
Having been to the grittier real Atlantic City we appreciated the idealized Disney version of a classic seaside resort town. Disney was still coming out of the pandemic so the crowds were light and there was no special holiday fireworks but the standard fireworks were still spectacular enough. We enjoyed our stay; believe the rooms have since been remodeled.
