Let’s board Monorail Green for a trip to the Magic Kingdom!

Helicopter was hovering over the Castle .

Helicopter was also hovering over the lagoon

The 50th Anniversary model of Cinderella Castle has been returned to the Emporium with the 50th decorations removed.

Paying our respects to the man who made sure Walt Disney World was completed, Roy Disney

Horse drawn streetcar getting ready to take the Dapper Dans up Main Street

Youngest son needed a haircut!

Looking good!

Finishing touch of pixie dust/pirate confetti!

Love the barber shop on Main Street

Had to get our slinky sipper and pizza planet truck popcorn bucket and then visit Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios

Taking a swirl on the Alien Saucers!

Not quite sure what we are looking at; but Sarge is parachuting overhead!

Went to see the new Epcot  Communicore Hall, Nice…not thrilling…but nice. The many different Spaceship Earth textures on the exterior are interesting. But Dad only took one picture…of the inside…where they did not really use the textures.

Taking a break at the Morocco Pavilion Passholder Lounge.

Genie was posing for pictures in the lounge which was a really nice touch.

Fun Times at Walt Disney World

Our posting has been pretty infrequent since the pandemic, while we have been lucky to go many times our documentation has been sparse since. Life is busy and we do this for fun (we aren't travel planners) and are doing this to have a travelogue/scrapbook to look back on. But we are so glad if you find any of this interesting. There is more frequent coverage on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/genuineoriginalfamilyblog?mibextid=sCpJLy.

From a photo pass experience with Cinderella’s glass slipper at the Grand Floridian.

Flashback review to our stay at Disney’s Boardwalk resort

Let’s flashback to the summer of 2021 when we had a chance to stay at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort at Walt Disney World for the Fourth of July Holiday!

Located on Crescent Lake in the EPCOT Resort area and between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Easy access to EPCOT by foot, or by boat. Hollywood Studios is a boat ride away or you can walk to EPCOT’s international gateway and take the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios. The Kingdoms (Magic & Animal) are accessible by bus.

The Boardwalk itself has shops and dining opportunities, more than you typically find at other resorts  and The Beach & Yacht Clubs as well as the Swan & Dolphin are within walking distance or boat ride if you prefer.

Our stay coincided with quite a bit of rain, which because of the lightning shut down the boats for a while. But thankfully the skies cleared for fireworks.

The room was a DVC studio suite (Boardwalk resort is a hotel and a Disney Vacation Club resort), and we had a great balcony overlooking the theme pool with distant views of the Swan & Dolphin beyond.

The lobby had cool carousel/Boardwalk amusement park themed decorations including murals of the Disney Parks Castles around the world in pastoral settings.

Having been to the grittier real Atlantic City we appreciated the idealized Disney version of a classic seaside resort town. Disney was still coming out of the pandemic so the crowds were light and there was no special holiday fireworks but the standard fireworks were still spectacular enough. We enjoyed our stay; believe the rooms have since been remodeled.
